I pledge to download Firefox 3
The Spread Firefox website is aiming to set a new Guinness world record for the most downloaded software in a 24 hour period. They are encouraging internet users to download Firefox 3 in a specified date. As of the writing of this blog, the date of download is not yet set but you can pledge to make a download by clicking the logo at the left.
Why use Firefox?
I always use Firefox in all my online transactions. It's fast, secure, easy to use and not buggy. I always wonder why many people are still using internet explorer (IE). In the side of website developers, IE is a painful browser, you need to create some patches to your code just to make your page look good in this browser. Firefox on the other hand is an open source product. Anybody, including you, yes you, can see or even modify/improve its underlying code. Community is directing its functionality and its not profit driven.

June 17, 2008: Start of download day
The download day of Firefox 3 will start on June 17, 2008. As of the writing of this comment, 1,210,535 pledge to download the browser. Some are organizing for a download party. Students from different campuses made an schedule Firefox 3 download party. I just wonder how the server of Firefox will perform on that day. I guess their engineers are now on the process of configuring their system for that big event.
I will make this post sticky to the top of this site front page until the end of the download day.
