Strength of Materials

Strength of Materials, also known as Mechanics of Materials, is a vital subject to engineering courses most specially to mechanical, structural, materials, civil, and aerospace engineering. The central concepts of this subject are stress, strain, and elasticity of solid structural materials.

The most widely used equipment on determining the quantity of stress, strain and elsaticity is the Univiersal Testing Machine (UTM), an example of which is shown in the picture below.
